Strengths

Fantastic run blocker and is very technically proficient.
Aggressive and physical in the run game and plays through the whistle.
Good ability to diagnose and respond to stunts or blitzes.
Physical pass protection style - he anchors well, has a good mirror, and knows when to engage the oncoming rusher.
Heavy hands that can stick and hold a defender in place.
Fluid mover overall - decent athletics.

Concerns/Weaknesses

Reach block technique is not good.
Hand placement can be inconsistent at times in pass protection.
Thinner build for a traditional NFL tackle and could benefit by adding additional weight.

Summary

Fano is a player that really checks all the boxes for a first round tackle on paper, and the concerns should all be items that can be addressed. Really, my only concern from a draft capital standpoint is that his style of plays feels very much like a guard to me. Unless his arm length comes back real short, he’ll get a run first at tackle, but I do wonder if guard is the long-term home. Regardless of position, his RD1 grade for me remains.
