Jonah Coleman, Washington RB
Strengths
Fantastic vision at the line and his ability to draw in defenders in gap schemes and then redirect once he gets them to commit. Haven’t seen a RB do that as often as he has.
Great physicality and play strength.
Really solid contact balance and creates extra yardage by running through defenders.
Good hands in the receiving game.
Good ability to plant his foot and hit the hole with speed and power.
Runs with a very low center of gravity and is a bit hunched over that creates this bowling ball type of look.
Good pass blocking ability.
Concerns/Weaknesses
Not a creator in the open field of extra yardage through agile movesets; he will stick to being a north-and-south runner with an occasional stiff arm.
The vertical speed and lateral agility is good enough, but still leaves you wanting more.
Routes run are very basic and he is not asked to do more than slide out in the flat.

Summary
Coleman is everything that I love when scouting RBs. His vision, which is my highest priority, is excellent. The strength and power that he brings to the run game is clear and obvious. Add in the fact that he has my favorite “bowling ball” style of running, and it was always going to be hard for me not to love him. I think he has all the makings of a RB that can at least handle first and second down, and be a solid contributor for whatever team he is on.
