Jadarian Price, Notre Dame RB

March 11, 20261 min read

Strengths

Fantastic ability to get additional yards after contact. The mix of strength, contact balance, and general agility makes for a potent mix.
Great vision between the tackles.
Runs through holes with a low center and this smooth-weaving like run style.
Good speed, agility, and burst.
Has special teams ability as a kick returner.

Concerns/Weaknesses

Has a problem with taking care of the ball (1.6% fumble rate).
Not creative in open space.
In the couple of passing opportunities I saw, he did not have particularly good route running ability or hands. He was not used in that capacity as a player, so that sample size is also small (but maybe that was by design?).

Key Statistics / Notes
PFF Grade: 78.6
Receptions: 6
Yards per Touch: 6.4
Total TDs: 13

Summary

Price’s tape really surprised me. I expected to see a clear 2nd back in the Notre Dame offense, or even a specialized role player (speed or power player). Instead, I do see competent starter potential for a player that really can do a lot of things at a high level. Specifically, his high end contact balance and vision, mixed with good athleticism, makes me think his skills are transferable. The biggest concerns are the fumbling (which depresses his draft stock more than his tape grade for me), and I don’t see any receiving upside.

With a natural tendency toward analysis and facts, scouting college players for the NFL became a love of AJ's during college, and a very time consuming hobby in adulthood.
